About the artist
Irina Petrova is an interdisciplinary artist working mainly with painting. In her practice, she refers to a person in a state of constant transition - between roles, identities and different forms of life. She is interested in how to maintain a sense of self in a reality that is constantly changing, and where to look for support when the usual idea of home, stability and belonging ceases to work. Through painting, she explores the ideas of grounding, inner support, and the possibility of becoming a home for herself.
