The Geometry of Joy series
This work is inspired by the ancient symbolism of the pomegranate as a sign of inner wealth and fullness of life. I wanted to explore this topic through the clash of the natural, almost jewellery texture of grain mirrors and uncompromising geometry.
Centrally, the uncovered fruits of the pomegranate with shimmering ruby accents became, which effectively stand out against the background of the black and white chess cells of the table. By dividing the background into laconic planes, I created a clean decorative language. The picture is deliberately devoid of household details in order to expose the rhythm of the lines and turn the still life into a meditative message about the joy of the present moment.
