Series "Portraits in feathers"
The impetus for the creation of the picture was the image of an amazing and rare quetzal bird. For me, it has become a living embodiment of perfect natural harmony, where form and color are balanced by nature itself. I wanted to bring to the canvas this fragile sense of the perfection of the wild world.
I took a very large, almost intimate plan, where a fan-shaped ruffle and soft iridescent plumage of the chest come to the fore. The dark neutral background creates a space of absolute harmony around the bird. I deliberately balanced on a fine line between recognizable silhouette and artistic generalization, so that the canvas sounded not as a biological illustration, but as a quiet, meditative music of color.
