Series "Portraits in feathers"
At the heart of this canvas is the idea of dialogue and the elusive mental connection between man and wildlife. As a model, I chose the macao parrot, whose piercing and conscious look literally made me stop and take up the brush.
The portrait is assembled from a complex geometry of color blocks: a bright yellow chest collides with a blue-green plastic wings and graphic thin lines on the white area of the face. Unlike the previous works of the series, here I used the neutral gray background of —, which added space to the air and removed unnecessary tension. The canvas catches a moment a second before moving, turning into a pure visual sign of freedom.
