The road to Buynaksk — is not just a way from point A to point B. It is a memory of the trip. It is a line that cuts time, a thin thread that is strung with silence and infinity. This is a memory of a short journey and a sense of freedom in the expanses of the foothills.
The calm palette of the picture is not quite peculiar to me. I deliberately retreated from my usual manner, giving up sharp strokes and a riot of colors. Here I wanted another — dissolution. In this picture, I was looking for that degree of tranquility that borders on eternity. It is written in muted, almost dusty tones: ochre fields, scorched by the sun, smoothly pass into soft greenery, and those, in turn, drown in the haze of the foothills.
The sky plays a major role here. It's not just a space overhead, it's a giant dome filled with rarefied mountain air. Light, almost translucent clouds seemed to freeze, afraid to disturb this evening peace.
The — Road is a barely perceptible tape looping at the bottom, — seems to be the only sign of human presence in this monumental world. She takes her eyes to the horizon, where the soft outlines of the mountains merge with the smoky sky, just in that direction is the city of Buynaksk. There is no drama, there is no conflict. Only this strange, healing peace, in which the breath of the earth is felt.
I wrote this as a confession to nature: quiet, humble, devoid of unnecessary words. This is the moment when you stop on the side of the road, get out of the car and realize that you — are only a tiny part of this huge, silent and beautiful world.
