Expected Disappointment explores the emotional weight of anticipating something painful before it happens. The figure’s distant expression and distorted features reflect a state of resignation, where disappointment becomes familiar rather than surprising. As part of the By a Thread collection, the work considers the fragile emotional states we experience when hope and fear exist at the same time.
