The Geometry of Joy series
This work was born out of admiration for the juicy color of the ripe pomegranate and the graphic expressiveness of the form. I was interested in combining in one plane the natural texture and a strict geometric pattern.
The compositional center was a jug with a large black and white chess pattern, which rhymes with an open slice of grenade in the foreground. Dividing the background into yellow and gray planes, I created a pure color block, which brings the color to a maximum. Canvas was conceived as an independent, energetic art object, bringing rhythmic order and joy of the moment to the modern interior.
