The sky over the Caspian

Oil, canvas on the subframe 70х50. Date of creation 10.2023

There are pictures that are born for a long time, and there are those that appear in one breath. This is what — does.

I've never written with such inspiration and such speed before. It was as if the painting was leading me. I was irresistibly drawn to the canvas —, it was like oxygen, which is impossible not to breathe. Each smear lay down easily and naturally, as if the sky itself told its story.

The painting depicts the sky above the Caspian — majestic, deep, filled with the movement of clouds and the soft light of the outgoing day. It feels at the same time the power of the elements and amazing calm.

Restrained, noble palette with deep blue, gray-blue and warm cream shades makes this work universal. It will harmoniously fit into most modern interiors, adding air, depth and a sense of inner peace to the space.

For me, this — painting is not just a landscape. It's a state of mind caught in one breath.
