The first murder. Cain and Abel. Every action begins long before it becomes a reality.
In this work, the biblical story of Cain and Abel becomes a reflection on the nature of human choice, envy, and the irreversibility of consequences.
In the foreground is Abel. In the distance, Cain leaves on the road leading to the horizon. Between them — silence after the committed. The artist does not depict the murder itself, but refers to the moment that comes after: when the act has already been committed, but its consequences are only beginning to be revealed.
The road becomes a metaphor for Cain's further — path, which is now forever linked to his choice. The light on the horizon leaves room for reflection on the future, guilt and the possibility of redemption, without offering an unambiguous answer.
"Cain and Abel" — is the second work in the author's series of five paintings, exploring the nature of sin, human responsibility and the transformation of personal choice into a force capable of changing the destinies of people and entire societies. From biblical origins to modern forms of power and value substitution, the series reveals how a person's inner decision gradually becomes part of the world he creates around him.
It's not just the story of Cain and Abel. It is a reflection on the boundary between feeling and acting, on the price of envy, and on the point at which one can no longer return to one's former self.
What determines our fate — circumstances, temptations or choices that we make ourselves?
