The picture was created by me in a period of strong experiences, it reflects the inner reality, my fears, doubts on the one hand.
But hope for a brighter future with another.
We all, not only artists, live in a fictional world distorted by our perception. Therefore, the reality and its reflection are different for everyone.
This is the reality in the crust I was in 2020. And it is not gloomy, as it may seem at first sight.

Deciphering the symbols:
The basis of the picture is taken not very famous painting by Van Gogh "Skull with a burning cigarette". I was very hooked by this picture, which is not typical for Van Gogh, and I have long wanted to make a reproduction in my own way.
The genre of the painting “memento mori” (remember about death) and therefore it came in handy to the general emotional state - almost everyone thought about the value of life at some point, I am no exception.

The — mask is a symbol of that time. The time when we first became very scared and it seemed that this was the end.

Flowers sprouting from the skull are not accidental lilies.
— white lilies are a symbol of hope in many cultures.
Here is my hope for a brighter future. From the gloomy thoughts of the imperfection of life sprout bright thoughts that everything will certainly be fine (if we allow ourselves to believe it)

And, of course, the number of lilies is also a symbol. At first glance, it may seem that there are two of them. In our culture, the 2 — flowers are a symbol of death.
But in fact, if you look closely at the — flower here 3, just one has not yet bloomed.
It is also a symbol of hope.
Then it seemed that everything was rather gloomy, but it is worth waiting a little, the third lily will dissolve and a new round of time, the "white stripe", will come. We are always waiting and hoping for the best.
