Series "Portraits in feathers"
To create this portrait, I was inspired by the amazing become and grace of flamingos. I wanted to get away from the usual perception of this bird as just a cute exotic symbol and show its deep inner balance, pride and self-sufficiency.
I built the composition on an expressive close-up: the graceful curve of the neck leads the viewer's gaze to the main emotional center of the — canvas, the attentive, fixative eye. To enhance the brightness of the plumage, I placed saturated pink and carmine strokes on a completely black, deep background. This contrast removes all random, turning the image of the bird into a theatrical and strong psychological portrait.
