The Myth:
What awaits you, traveler, on this road? Up, to nowhere — or back?
The diptych "To Nowhere and Back" explores the civilizational crossroads through the image of the ancient Appian Way — as a metaphor for both a great civilization and a spiritual path. The horizontal vector, bounded by the limits of the earth, leads to a fog of exhaustion of resources and cultural decline. The vertical path, fearlessly growing into the sky along the trunk of the tree of life, becomes a metaphor for a qualitative breakthrough: development not outwards, but upwards, where decisions are born out of the courage to discover new things. Small houses clinging to the road, — is a sign of new habitation, possible only on this bold route.
The work is covered with varnish for long-term shine. This 60×160 cm — diptych is a significant acquisition for collectors looking for contemporary, thought-provoking works. It will be an expressive accent for a demanding modern interior, as well as an exquisite and deeply meaningful gift.
